My pets are spoiled …

I have  cats and a dog … they are all exceedingly spoiled.  At least I think so, if you asked them they would tell you a different tale.

Here are 2 of my cats in the spring looking out into the wide world where they think they want to be, but since we live near a major road where mad drivers speed by like NASCAR … they are kept indoors.  Now since I am a soft-hearted individual I feel guilty about trapping them in a nice safe … moderately warm (it is an old home and it is currently about 10 degrees outside … drafts do exist!) … and did I say old home?  So we have nooks and crannies and rafters in the kitchen where they can pretend to be Olympic gymnasts on the balance beam.  These cats can sleep in bake ovens (that hole in the wall that is part of the chimney of an 1829 house) — they can decide if they like the pantry or any number of linen closets of other hidey-holes that only felines can find.  In the warm months (as I said it is currently 10 degrees?) they can be found on cat gyms out on the side porch which is screened in where they can watch crows and song birds flitting about … well I suppose song birds flit … crows just are.  I want to be re-incarnated as my cat!

This fall we adopted the last cat and then my kids decided that since we had 4 male cats and a female dog … we could nickname them all names based on the 1980’s TV show “The A-Team”.  So Murdoch and Face are in the window (Murdoch is orange and Face is black) and BA Baracus is in the picture to the side and I will have to find a picture of Hannibal who actually is quite sneaky.  The dog is Amy …

Now my dog was a rescue … she was about 6 when we got her — on three different meds for seizures and thyroid condition and not house broken.  She is still on medication but she is very good now.  She is a love and so sweet  … dumber than most everything but when you are as sweet as she is you can be dumb.

Oh well we love our pets and they love us … when they are looking for food.  Ah to be servants of the four-footed ones … what more can a mere 2 footed want in life?
